The Best Ways to Promote Your Livestream Classes, Virtual Sessions, and Workout Videos

Livestreaming is not only an essential tool to expand your class capacitybut can also increase your reach and engagement. By broadcasting real-time content to your clients and prospective members, you build personal connections with them. You can bring in people from all over the world to work out with you—provided they know where to find you. Incorporating livestreaming into your marketing strategy can bring your community and business to new heights. That’s why it’s important you promote your livestream fitness classes and on-demand (or pre-recorded) workouts.

Here are a few ways you can make sure you’re getting as many eyes as possible on your video content.

1. List your livestream class on Mindbody

Are your livestream classes available through your Mindbody schedule? Did you know that people all over the world can easily find and discover virtual classes on the Mindbody app?

Make sure your livestream shows up by enabling “livestream” at the service category level. You’ll also want to add the word “virtual” in front of your class name (for example, Virtual Power Flow). If you usually use class names, now may be the time to use a more standard format so that people unfamiliar with your brand can discover your offering.

Pro tip: Want even more of a boost on the Mindbody app? Create a promoted digital intro offer for people to try your virtual offering or use dynamic pricing to boost the visibility of your livestream. For more on pricing your digital offerings, check out this guide.

2. Reach out in their inbox

Emailing your clients is an effective way to build awareness for your online classes and sessions.  Email your active members, occasional drop-ins, and past members who are no longer local.  It’s all about getting the word out to make sure your customers know that livestream is an option. Email is also an effective way to get customer feedback after your livestream and so you can get ideas on how to improve your livestream offering.

Not sure how to get started? There’s a template (a few, in fact) for that. In Marketing Suite, we’ve made it easy to plug in your info and hit send.

3. Share on social media

Social media is the perfect place to celebrate your virtual offerings and get people excited to join in on the fun. Each week, share your streaming schedule and tease any pre-recorded video “drops.” You can even share clips of the livestream or workouts on your accounts. Here are a couple of ways to use social media to boost your reach:

Facebook Live:
Using Facebook Live is a great way to broadcast your workouts or virtual sessions in real-time. With Facebook, you can notify your page “fans” that you are “Live” in a video, so no one misses out. Before starting your livestream, you want to think about what your clients will learn from your session. You can ask yourself questions like: Are they going to learn a new exercise? A new technique? What workout do I want to showcase? These questions will make the agenda of your session clear and the content valuable. Build the anticipation by telling your clients you’re going live before the virtual event through posts or a specific broadcast. During your livestream, you can respond to your viewers in real-time.

Instagram:
Instagram is another platform to reach your clients virtually and increase engagement. Preparation for going live will be the same process as for Facebook Live.  You can use Instagram to your advantage in a couple of ways, including social posts, Instagram stories, and reels to boost your viewers. Reels can be used as a quick way to promote your livestream in a short clip.

Want to take your promotions to the next level? Create a series of ads for Facebook and Instagram that advertise your digital intro offer.

4. Update your digital presence

You want to make sure that anyone Googling your business knows that they can join your classes or workouts from any location. Also, you’ll want to highlight your virtual offerings as an option on your website as well as on Google & Yelp.

This is your chance to get your brand out there and expand your reach. Promotion is key to making sure people don’t miss the chance to sweat and connect with your business—no matter where they are in the world.
