Yoga
In 2007 I stepped into a hot yoga studio in Albuquerque & became instantly addicted. Found myself drawn to the power of heat/humidity & the amazing benefits of yoga asanas combined. In 2014, after seeing & feeling the difference hot yoga & power vinyasa brought to my overall wellness, I began to feel the overwhelming need & desire to share with others all that I had learned & gained thru the years. Realizing this new passion & dream, I received my 200 YTS certification in 2015, in San Antonio, TX. Now my teaching journey began! I started teaching at a large resort in the summer plus studio classes & then venturing into private one on one sessions & small groups. In 2016, I continued my education by taking an outstanding workshop called the Baptiste Program of the Art of Assisting. In that same year I tore my ACL & had surgery. I am here to tell you that I know without a shadow of a doubt, my quick healing… process was largely due to getting back into the hot room asap & focusing on my yoga practice. Even my doctor was amazed! Then, that following year, my yoga/fitness education continued & I received another certification to teach PiYo. This is a mixture of Pilates and Yoga. Great combo! Soon after in 2018, I made my way with husband & furries to Lubbock. We have now made this our home & I have been so grateful to have found another yoga community. In my journey to expand & build upon my knowledge, I took a course with Sadie Nardini for Fierce Yoga & Fitness Courses. I absolutely love that there is always something new to learn in yoga or advance upon! My goal is to have a practice that I can bring to fellow yogi's, that will never be dull, always fun, perhaps a bit challenging, strength building, along with gaining flexibility, body awareness & confidence inside & out. I want YOU to feel positive & energized when you depart the studio. My hopes are for yogi's & especially newbies to lose the fear or intimidation that yoga poses may bring. I encourage challenges since this path is the way to improving our wellness & bodies. Just as in life, we do NOT grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges. So, please, grab your mat and let's join together on this journey! Favorite quote: "Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and to endure what cannot be cured." B.K.S. Iyengar
